The south coast

Salt in the air. Nowhere to rush.

Stay a little curious

A place to
take your time.

Barefoot mornings, colourful fishing boats and the ocean always close by. Choose a beach to settle into, or drift between bays with a few favourite stops along the way.

Beach days · Surf lessons · Ocean adventures

Plan a journey here
Make it your kind of day

Little moments.
Lovely discoveries.

01

Mirissa & whale watching

Explore Mirissa Beach and Coconut Tree Hill, or ask about a whale-watching boat trip. Sailings depend on weather and sea conditions, and wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Choose a responsible operator that keeps its distance.

02

Mihiripenna Beach

A quieter coastal stop near Unawatuna, with palms, sand and ocean views. Enjoy a beach walk and check local conditions before entering the water.

03

Hikkaduwa & Narigama

Make time for beach cafés, surf lessons and reef experiences. Snorkelling or diving depends on visibility and conditions; never touch coral or feed turtles.

04

Unawatuna

A popular bay for a beach afternoon, a leisurely meal and nearby coastal exploring. Your driver can combine it with a visit to Galle.

05

Weligama

Try a surf lesson with a local school, watch the surfers or take a long walk along the bay. Ask your instructor to choose conditions suitable for your level.

06

Hiriketiya & Tangalle

Head further along the coast for more beach stops, small cafés and time by the sea. Choose one area to enjoy rather than rushing through every bay.

07

Koggala stilt fishing

Discover the coastal fishing tradition of balancing on a crossbar fixed to a wooden pole. Stop to watch, hear local stories and take photographs with permission. Some visits are demonstrations; agree any photography or participation fee before you begin.

Leave room to wander

Your day.
Your pace.

Choose two or three nearby stops: Galle and Unawatuna, Mirissa and Weligama, or Hikkaduwa and Narigama. Whale-watching trips need their own morning and advance planning.

A little before you go

Swimming, surfing and boat trips are weather-dependent. Ask locally about currents and safe areas; calm-looking water can still have strong currents.

Activities, tickets and guides are subject to availability and are included only when confirmed in your quote.
